Los Bonobos are husband-and-wife team, Lionel Philippe & Heike Golightly; they will be playing 1930s blues and original compositions, accompanied on piano on some numbers by Lyndsey Lee.
Lionel and Heiki met and fell in love singing jazz and blues. These days they are seasoned performers and romantic partners, wisened and encountering each other anew, feeling the blues more than ever. Think Victoria Spivey meets Lonnie Johnson! But honouring the legacy of Skip James, Blind Blake, Bessie Smith and Memphis Minnie, to mention just a few. This will be fun.
