About the event
Ela, Matt and Dan have been playing together for many years on the Brighton scene. Favourites in many of Brighton’s best jazz haunts as well as jazz festivals across the country such as Love Supreme in the south to Dundee Festival in Scotland. They are well respected and appreciated for their authentic renditions, the love for the genre shines through.
Ela grew up with a jazz pianist father and was immersed in swinging jazz from the off, she studied music to degree level at Brighton and then jazz specifically at Chichester college and has been a full time musician for many years.
Matthew Wall is self taught, he loves studying the harmony of the jazz classics to bring interesting arrangements for the trio. He writes arrangements for big bands and larger ensembles too such as Ela with Strings and a full suite of songs to recreate the Getz/Gilberto album for…
