About the event
Inspired by the intimate lyricism of Chet Baker, the rhythmic sophistication of Mel Tormé, and the understated elegance of João Gilberto, Ryan seamlessly blends smoky ballads, swinging standards and authentic Brazilian bossa nova – complete with selections performed in Portuguese.
On piano, Carl Greenwood is an award-winning Leeds College of Music alumnus and highly in-demand musical director. With a career spanning major West End and UK touring productions (including ‘Tina: The Tina Turner Musical’ and ‘Hairspray’), Carl’s sensitive and versatile playing has seen him perform alongside celebrated jazz artists including Clare Teal and Liane Carroll.
On double bass, Oz Dechaine is a standout presence across the UK jazz and theatre circuit and Course Leader for Music Performance at Northbrook College. A familiar favourite on the Sussex scene, his groove-driven playing has graced stages from Ronnie Scott’s and the Love Supreme Jazz Festival to Chichester Festival Theatre, performing alongside jazz greats…
