Ryan Maynard Trio, featuring Carl Greenwood & Oz Dechaine

Brighton-based vocalist Ryan Maynard brings his warm, romanticism to Deep Dive, alongside two of the South Coast’s most respected jazz musicians, pianist Carl Greenwood and double-bassist Oz Dechaine.

Inspired by the intimate lyricism of Chet Baker, the rhythmic sophistication of Mel Tormé and the understated elegance of João Gilberto, Ryan Maynard blends smoky ballads, swinging standards and authentic Brazilian bossa nova, with selections performed in Portuguese.

Carl Greenwood is an award-winning Leeds College of Music alumnus whose sensitive and versatile playing has seen him perform alongside artists including Clare Teal and Liane Carroll. Completing the trio, Oz Dechaine is a familiar and highly regarded presence on the Brighton jazz scene, bringing deep swing, melodic bass lines and an intuitive sense of groove.

Together, the trio explore timeless standards and Brazilian classics, offering an intimate evening of heartfelt vocals, expressive improvisation and the rich tradition of jazz.
